I bought the Brother MFC-L2820DW on Amazon on July 31, 2025.

It's been very reliable. No problems at all. The whole time I've had it, there's only been one paper jam.

It's probably the best printer I've ever had. It's my first Brother. I used to always get HP, and so far I like Brother better.

What it is

The Brother MFC-L2820DW is an all-in-one laser printer. It prints, copies, scans and faxes. Black and white only.

It prints up to 34 pages a minute, on both sides automatically. The paper tray holds 250 sheets.

On top there's a 50-page document feeder for copying and scanning, and a 2.7-inch color touchscreen.

How I use it

I print real estate contracts, tax paperwork and general things. Shipping labels go on a separate thermal printer.

It's connected by Wi-Fi to two computers.

Besides printing, I use it for copying sometimes, and I use the double-sided printing. I don't use the fax.

The one thing to think about

It doesn't make much noise. The only thing is, it's big. Most all-in-one laser printers are.

It's about 16 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 12.5 inches tall, and it weighs 25.5 pounds.

Who it's right for, and who it isn't

It's for anyone who wants a reliable black-and-white laser printer.

I don't remember all the reasons I chose it over the Brother DCP-L2640DW, but the touchscreen display is important to me. I don't use the fax.

If you don't care about the touchscreen or the fax, you could get the DCP-L2640DW. It's the same size and uses the same toner. It has a two-line text display instead of a touchscreen, and no fax.
